STAR Information Center

A newsletter will be published during the baseball strat season and made available to STAR tournament directors and players via either a web site, e-mail or regular mail.

The following information will be made available:

Updated average pick sheets.
Tournament results (winners, records, etc.).
Leaders in different categories (wins, winning percentage, money, etc.).
National point leaders.
Current National and Regional Prize Funds Totals.

The quality of the information available depends on the timeliness and quality of the information provided by tournament and regional directors. To qualify as a sanctioned STAR tournament and have the records apply to the National point leader, each tournament director must provide the following:

A $5 per entrant contribution to the National prize fund.
A $5 per entrant contribution to the Regional prize fund.
A $30 contribution for the cost placing the Star Tournaments insert with the cards.
The draft sheets for each division and the name of each participant.
The wins and losses for each player and the tournament winner. (Do not count wins for shootouts and playoffs for third place and lower)
Drafts saved by DSIM if available.

15% of the National prize fund or $200, whichever is greater, will be awarded to the National point leader. The remainder of the National prize will be awarded to the highest qualifier who has played in at least three sanctioned tournaments.

Each player at every sanctioned tournament is awarded points based on the following formula:

One point for each game won
One point for each games won minus losses (but cannot be negative)
One point for each player in the tournament if player wins the tournament.

The total points for the three best tournament finishes, the best regional championship finish and next years Nationals will be used to determine the National Points Leader. The National Points Leader will be awarded the prize after the National tournament.
