Star Tournaments Prize Money Distribution

There will be three levels of participation:

All entrants will contribute $25 each to cover local, regional and national tournament expenses.  Of the $25 each player contributes, $5 goes to the regional prize fund and $5 goes to the national prize fund.  The remaining $15 is used to cover local expenses.  This includes room rental, card sets and $30 for the flyer in the card set.  If there is not enough money to pay expenses, it must come out of the prize fund.  Any excess is applied to the regional bonus prize fund.

Half price players contribute $25 to the prize fund and full price players will contribute $75 to the prize fund.   The following table will be used to determine the prize money for each tournament.

Prizes are awarded only to Full or Half price players.  However, if a $25 entrant wins the tournament, he will receive $50 that will come out of the prize fund before the other prizes are awarded.  A $25 player does not count in the place finishes for prize money.  The highest finishing Full or Half priced player will receive first place money, second highest finishing Full or Half priced player will receive second place money and so forth until all prizes are awarded. 

All half-price entrants will have their prize money reduced to 33%, since they only contribute 33% of the prize money.  The prize money that is deducted from the half price players will be divided equally among the top full price players with the following exceptions.   The top full price finishers are those that finish in the money as described in the payout chart.

If the remaining finishers cannot receive the full amount of the prize money because of the above restrictions, the next highest full price finisher will receiver prize money until 100% of the prize money is awarded.
